Madeleine Vella Satariano was born in 1959 and raised in Sliema.
At a very young age Madeleine felt the desire to draw and paint. This desire was instilled in her by her father, Cecil Satariano, also an artist and acted as her guide and was her source of inspiration. Madeleine, who lived most of her youth by the sea, is greatly inspired and moved by the power and might of stormy waves. This can be seen in her many seascapes. She also loves painting free galloping horses, which give vent to her emotions as she escapes alongside the beautiful beasts. Madeleine attended the Malta School of Art where she took a course of portraiture and still life painting. She also took classes abroad under the tutorship of the well known American artist, Cilff Fleener, who later went on to acquire one of her watercolour paintings. Madeleine selects her media according to the subject she picks. Madeleine has had two solo exhibitions and participated in several collective exhibitions.
